When? Cause I've a mind to come over sooner rather than later.
[Because he misses him, but he doesn't have to type that part.]
You sound like an avenging knight. Like a paladin of righteous good. Protector of the small.

[ It would be the first time anyone has used that kitchen. ]
No love. I just hate the police. Apart from Freddie. He's half way decent.
no subject
I bet someone's written something pretty about you, but alright dash my fantasies.
Who's Freddie? I don't recall his name coming up.
no subject
Do you think? I really don't think there's anyone outside of this city that's ever written anything about me. Nice or otherwise. I try not to appear in written records back home.
Inspector of the London Police. He's a reasonably senior officer, not the highest, but quite high. I first met him when we arrived, and he was helpful. But we're not close friends. He's a useful man to know, all the same.
no subject
It doesn't have to be history or even news. A child you save tells the story of the big man who made the scary men go away. Someone writes a poem of a dark rescuer they never even truly saw. You live on in many things, love, I would bet anything.
[He tyes out 'heroes always do' and erases it. He still feels it, but as surely as Jacob's likening him to something angelic sits ill in him, this line of praise clearly sits ill in the older man.
Some day soon, he'd get Jacob Frye under him again and whisper every praise and ounce of love he contained into that scarred skin until some of it sank back in.]
Ah, yes, I understand all too well. Sounds a useful ally at least.
no subject
[ He wouldn't necessarily need to be under him to hear that. ]
Friends in high places can be extremely useful in my line of work.
no subject
[Shh let him have his body worship asperations.]
I can imagine. You've a veritable network to do what you have to do. Takes a lot of planning and groundwork and trust built to maintain it.
Speaking of high places, I have a new picture for you.
no subject
[ Or you'll end up with Great bloody Expectations. ]
I'd love to claim that I did it all myself, but I didn't. Both here and back home someone did all that ground work for me.
New picture?
no subject
[He trusted Jacob's tastes in things at least.]
Still takes work to maintain and not let it fall apart. Credit where it's due, love.
Here. Flew up to that big fucker in the Up one night. Been having trouble keeping my head clear, but that helped for a bit. Thought you'd like the view. [He sends a new picture along.]
no subject
[ The image comes through and its gorgeous, Chris sat up there with the sky reflected, the buildings spread out below him. He saves it quietly as the background of his phone. ]
I should join you up there some time. It looks incredible.
no subject
Be happy to take you whenever you'd like. It's peaceful enough. Cold though, and getting colder, we'll bring a blanket.
[...]
Date on the ledge of a building?
no subject
I was thinking it might be interesting to work out how I can get up there, but maybe that's for another time. If you want to help me up there, that's fine by me. We can cuddle under a blanket together.
no subject
Gods, when you do at least let me spot you or something. Otherwise sounds grand. Maybe you can hold my hand to keep me from falling as I lean over the side. Something different in the thrill of that versus doing it with wings out.
no subject
Spot me? You know no one has done that since I was nine years old. You dont have to. But I'll hold your hand. And maybe we can find a smaller drop and ill teach you some leaps.
no subject
But I’ll learn leaps from you if you’ve a kind to teach, my dexterity is more fair than the average man, even if it’s nothing to a rogue.
no subject
I'd love to. They're very good at distracting you from problems. It's a rush. But we'll start small. The jump is easy, the landing is harder
no subject
That's usually what I use for flying and for my motorcycle, but I'm always willing to try new ways to get that feeling. I surrender myself to your expert tutelage. You can talk form and technique a bit to me when I come over.
[That sounded very nice, really. Cuddling and talking shop? Feels like the closest they've gotten back to their norm since Jacob woke up.]
no subject
Motorcycle? Now that I am yet to see. You should bring it over too. I think I remember how the motor cars work but I've never had the chance to really look at a motorcycle at close quarters.
no subject
Suppose I always wanted to impress you with wing instead.
Mine's a little special, runs on water, namely the water in the air, so it doesn't smell terrible and it's made silent but you're welcome to poke around it.
[There's a few other enchantments too, but those seem the most important right now. Alright, when he came over next, motorcycle it would be.]

I’m told I don’t drive safely, so we’ll see what you think
